Completion

I finally finished my Library Degree and travelled to my university at Wagga Wagga on the 12th of December to accept my degree.

Seven years of studying finished. I would never study by distance again and found my best units were those done at the local university face to face. I would love to continue being a uni student and look to do further study in the future.

But for now, being a librarian is enough. This field is innovative, evolving and is always looking to the future.

This is why I am overjoyed to find out my daughters new high school is renaming their library next year because libraries are static and only have books!

Snow season starts early

Last weekend there was a good dump of snow, which stayed on the ground for a day or two.

Wal went out to do things while the girls stayed in town.

I have been knitting a bit with patterns off Ravelry and I am happy with the results.

I want to do a few more mitts, including some cute owl ones for Mia, but going through the wardrobes this weekend there are scarves and beanies galore so will put off knitting more of them. The mittens above have slits in the thumb so you can use your phone or other things while wearing them.

Enjoy the snow season!

May update

Finally got the weekender enclosed over the weekend and cooked some lovely scones in the camp oven which are turning out really well! Wal is getting building burn out with lots more ahead of him.

We went chestnut picking over the Easter weekend which was painful - they are spikey! There looks like quite a few chestnut orchards are out that way but not quite sure the best way to use them yet.

It is getting cold - they have forcast snow this weekend down to 1200 so our cabin will get snow, but we are becoming a bit busy in town to go out for a couple of weekends. We need to do a bit of work on the Rayburn before we can get it up and running for heating/cooking. I am trying to find cookbooks about cooking on a wood range, and they are mostly American. I have got one from the UK from AGA which has the delightful dish of baked avocado which sounds quite horrid! They are all trying to be modern and fancy when I just want basic home cooking.

It will have to be trial and error when it eventually gets up and running.

This is a visitor to our patch but we haven't seen him for a while, though we did see the two huge eagles on a kangaroo carcass on the way out again.

Hemi

I haven't put enough pictures up of Hemi. He is a gorgeous fellow - still a puppy at heart, but full grown in size. He loves to be chased, tickled, fed. He groans and moans and eats anything!

He loves getting together with John and Jen's two dogs Maz and Soco. Here he is with Teasel.

Things progress at Serenity Park

With a flood of rain, our dam is over half full, and frogs are singing all the time.

The weekender is going great and we are there - every weekend!

I am on my second last subject of my degree and have some reading to do and I am enjoying reading the Pioneer Woman blog, which is fantastic.

Her cinnamon scroll recipe is delicious and makes many!

Lots of sugar and butter and cinnamon...yum.

Enjoying work and my recent Sydney trip. I am thinking of planning a weekend for just me and the girls to do the sightseeing touristy stuff. Wal can go to Jerangle.
